20 days left!!!
Okay people, there are only 20 days left until the sale. I don’t know about you but I’ve been procrastinating… I have my tags and tagging gun (thanks Brandi!). I’ve read Josette’s tagging tips from the newsletter. I’ve watched the tagging tips YouTube video. Hangers are purchased. Have I tagged yet? No. Will I tag in the next 18 days, yes! Even if you haven’t started yet there is still time to prep your items to sell.
Don’t think you have enough? You do!
Maybe you don’t think you have enough items for it to be worth the effort? Once you get on a roll, you’ll find more than you ever expected. The theme of this post is LET IT GO! That super cute holiday outfit they won’t fit in next year? Let it go! That amazing blanket you bought to help your infant(s) sleep (and now they’re 2 and don’t need it)? Sell it! Carriers you don’t use because your kids weigh like 40lbs now? Let it go! Stroller sitting in the garage? Let it go!
How do you sell?
1) First things first, wash ‘um. As you pull them out of the dryer, do a little quality control on yourself. Does it have any stains? Is it too worn? If so, let it go… into a donate box.
2) Next, it’s over to http://mpomc.org/garage_sale to see who your tagging rep is and then fire off an email to her so you can get some tags. (Yellow tags only please! you do NOT want to see any of this crapola in your house again!) Anyone can sell! Seller IDs can be found on club members Big Tent accounts. For non-members, you receive one when you sign up. To sign up for the garage sale, visit http://www.mpomc.org/gs_interested
3) Once you’ve picked up tagging supplies, washed and sorted items, off you go! -Remember ALL CLOTHING NEEDS TO BE ON HANGERS. When in doubt check the pricing guide at http://www.mpomc.org/gs_
4) Now, here’s the thing. My early shopping and consignment percentage are locked in because I’m on the committee. What about you? Do you get to shop before everyone else? And are you going to earn up to 80% back on your sold items? If you haven’t signed up to volunteer, please do that now! We’re looking good on our Thursday and Friday shifts, but please oh please sign up for the fun fest on Saturday. We could use your help, and I’m sure you could use the extra cash! TAGGING TIPS
-Start writing your seller id on tags even before they’re attached to anything. You can do this while watching tv.
-Put equipment manuals in zip-lock bags and attach bags to equipment with Snap Lock fasteners. If you don’t have the original manual, do a quick search online; you’ll probably find a .pdf online to print out. If there are 4 of the same toy for sale, the one with the manual will sell first – assuming it’s reasonably priced.
-Put plastic wrap completely around wooden puzzles to keep pieces in place.
-Place toys with several pieces in Ziploc bags. These will be taped shut after Quality Control.
-Start NOW! You will be amazed at how many things you have that could be sold, and the sooner you get started, the more money you can make!.
-DON”T FORGET! Because we want our sale to offer the best quality items to the community, we have strict quality control guidelines. Please make sure that all clothing is stain-free and in otherwise good condition, and that toys and other gear have all their parts and pieces and have been thoroughly cleaned. Items that don’t meet our guidelines will not be included in the sale.
-ALL CLOTHING NEEDS TO BE ON HANGERS.
