Program Development and Budget Management

  • Managed the Center for Student Life and Leadership Development. Reported to the Vice President of Student Services and worked independently with minimal supervision.
  • Hired and supervised Student Life and Leadership Assistant and four student workers.
  • Managed AS annual budget of $100,000. Approved AS and club requests for payments and facilities usage
  • Completed monthly and annual budget reports, department program reviews, unit goals, and student learning outcomes.
  • Coordinated clubs, student ID cards, online housing listings and the Student Life calendar and web page.

Educational and Social Activities Planning and Coordination

  • Coordinated all large campus events such as Campus MovieFest, Welcome Back Week, monthly Spirit Thursdays, semester long Social Justice Series, Convocation and College Commencement (including letters to graduates, graduate RSVP, ceremony day logistics).
  • Organized annual 3-day/2-night Fall Leadership Retreats and 1-day Spring Leadership Retreats.

Teaching and Advising

  • Advised and trained 21 Associated Students (AS) of Canada College Governing Board in their leadership roles and being successful in college.
  • Taught team building, time management, Roberts Rules of Order, advocacy, diversity training, and leadership development workshops.
  • Developed the AS Course Syllabus, advised weekly Board meetings, and held individual weekly meetings with the AS President, Inter-Club Council President and AS Treasurer.
  • I am a trained Strengths Based Educator who has been using the StrengthsFinder 2.0/StrengthsQuest assessment with my student leaders since 2007.

  • Coordinated the annual fall and spring “Welcome Back” Information Tables, CLUB RUSH, Diversity Speaker Series, Sexual Assault Awareness Clothesline Project, and the Annual African American Celebration Dinner. Served as floor manager at Commencement. Coordinated and implemented NVC Day, a welcome day for incoming students, parents and community members. I was responsible for developing the day’s agenda, logistics, and marketing.

I co-coordinate meals Mom’s Nights Out. I was a member of the MPOMC 2015 Annual Garage Sale Planning Committee. For the MPOMC 2014 Annual Garage Sale, I was a co-chair and led meetings of 18 members, facilitated project tasks, and updated the club website. 94 sellers participated. Between Jan 2014 to Jan 2015 I organized a monthly New Twin Parent Meet Up at Parents Place in San Rafael.
